About me
My life has been marked by extensive travels, something for which I'm truly grateful. The privilege of experiencing various cultures, customs, and traditions, all intertwined with culinary practices, continually provides me with fresh perspectives on our diverse world. It's fascinating how we're all interconnected through our shared experiences of food, ambiance, and environment. From the origins of our meals to the moments they reach our plates, whether by fork, chopsticks, or hands, the entire journey contributes to a vital experience.
I aspire to share this holistic experience with my followers. Despite my relatively short time on this planet, I've had the opportunity to explore and live in places like Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, and Sint-Maarten. My connection with Turkey has been strong; I've been visiting the country since childhood, spending summers there. Born in the Netherlands to Turkish parents, I often find myself straddling the line between European and Turkish cultures.
A significant turning point occurred when I experienced true luxury for the first time. This coincided with my initial solo stay at the Peninsula Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. I had my own little cabana by the pool, indulging in luxurious virgin cocktails and delectable food that left a lasting impression. The awakening of my senses during that time was unparalleled, and it ignited a fascination that still persists.
My culinary journey includes tasting Parisian cuisine and exploring the flavors of Northern Italian cities such as Milan, Florence, Venice, and the romance of Rome. The pizza in Naples, along with the delights of patanegra and paella in Spain, captured my taste buds. South Africa introduced me to game dishes, while the United States, from New York to LA, offered a diverse gastronomic adventure. I even had a memorable experience at In-N-Out on the West Coast, savoring a double-double animal style burger.
These are my stories, a testament to my love for exploration, food, and the ever-enriching fusion of cultures.
